Thankful for Family Fêtes

Despite a few unseasonably warm days last week, it's clear that fall has come to Garrett County, and before we know it we'll be gathering with our friends, family, and loved ones for one of our favorite yearly traditions- Thanksgiving!  If you're like us, you look forward to this special day all year: enjoying grandma's secret-recipe stuffing, seeing cousins you haven't seen since last year, reflecting on all your blessings, and generally treasuring every moment with those you love.  At Farmhouse Fête, we aim to make these gatherings just a little more special for you with all of the great decor options we have in stock.  Event planning is not limited to weddings and birthdays- let us help you create a Thanksgiving celebration that your family will still be raving about at Christmas!    Here we'll share with you some of our ideas for elevating your next family gathering into a Pinterest worthy Fête!

First let's lay the foundation-the table itself.  If you've found yourself with a guest list exceeding your dining room table and are dreading the idea of having to seat part of your group at a cheap folding table, consider coming in to rent one of our gorgeous wooden tables.  They've been a hit for brides, and we know they will wow your holiday company.  These tables are gorgeous, and worthy of the turkey you've been slaving over!

With a table that gorgeous, you may not be interested in using a full table covering.  We have lots of runner and placemat options to dress things up, but we'd like to point out a very easy and cost effective option- our paper products.  These runners and placemats are made of a very thick paper with gorgeous patterns, so you have the benefit of easy clean-up without sacrificing the look of a well-styled table.

A tip we often share with our brides is that lighting can make all the difference, and this holds true for your family table as well.  Come and take a look at our tealight holders.  Below are some of our favorites in fall colors, but we have every shape and color imaginable!  We recommend using battery tealights so you can continue to use your votive holders year after year without the hassle of wax cleanup.

You can't have fall without some beautiful leaves, and our metal leaves make a gorgeous accent for each place setting!

Escort cards are always a fun way to dress up the table.  Consider using some of our mini-chalkboards to indicate each guest's place setting.

 Escort cards have multiple uses- if you're having a buffet-style dinner, consider using them to indicate the name of each dish!  The benefit of using the chalkboard style (apart from being part of this ever-growing trend!) is that they can be reused for every occasion!
